St. Angelo Fort (Kannur Fort)

In 1498, during Vasco da Gama's visit to India, the local Kolathiri king granted the land to Portuguese to build a settlement in present-day Kerala. On 23 October 1505, he gave the Portuguese leader Francisco de Almeida the permission to build a fort at the site.

Mappila Bay

Mappila Bay is a natural harbor situated at Ayikkara in Kannur Municipal Corporation, Kerala state of South India. On one side of the bay is Fort St. Angelo, built by the Portuguese in the 15th century and the other side is the Arakkal Palace.

Sree Sundareswara Temple

Sree Sundareswara Temple is one of the two prominent temples consecrated by Sree Narayana Guru Devan in Kannur District, the other being Sree Jagannaatha Temple, Thalassery.
